This is a small site for a small studio, and it collects as little as possible. No accounts, no advertising, no selling of your data, no dark patterns. This notice explains the whole of it in plain language.
Who is responsible
“We”, “us”, and “the studio” mean Overtone Studio, a trade name of Overtone Studio LLC, based in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. We are the controller of the personal data described below. Questions or requests: hello@overtone.studio.
What we collect, and why
The site itself has no forms. There are two ways your details reach us, plus the basics every website logs.
- When you book a call. The booking links open Calendly, a scheduling service. You enter your details there, and Calendly sends us the booking: typically your name, email address, the time you chose, and anything you add in the notes. If you pick a video call, Calendly creates a Google Meet link through our calendar, so Google handles the meeting details too. We use all of it to prepare for and hold the call. Calendly collects your details under its own privacy policy, which governs what it does with them.
- When you get in touch. If you email us, the details you send, meaning your name, email address, and message, are used solely to read and reply. They are not added to a marketing list or shared with anyone else.
- Basic technical logs. Our host records standard request data (such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested) to serve the site, keep it secure, and prevent abuse. This is ordinary server housekeeping, not tracking.
Analytics & cookies
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies and shows no cookie wall, because there is nothing to consent to beyond the essentials. We add no analytics or tracking script to the site. Our host reports aggregate traffic statistics, such as page views and referrers, with no cross-site tracking and nothing that identifies you personally. Calendly sets its own cookies once you land on its booking page, under its privacy policy.
Who processes it on our behalf
We use a small number of trusted providers, only to run the site:
- Cloudflare: hosting, content delivery, and security for overtone.studio.
- Calendly: scheduling, and the booking details you enter there.
- Google: our calendar, and the Meet link created for a video call.
- Email provider: to receive and reply to your messages.
These providers process data under their own privacy terms and only as needed to provide their service to us. Some are based in, or process data in, the United States; where data is transferred internationally, it is done under the safeguards those providers offer.
How long we keep it
Booking details stay in our calendar and scheduling account as the record of a meeting, and in our email where the confirmation lands. If a call doesn't lead to work together, you can ask us to remove them. Correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterward. Technical logs are short-lived and rotated by our host.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data you've given us, or to stop contacting you. Just email hello@overtone.studio and it's done, no hoops. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights, including the right to object to processing or to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We honour these regardless.
Children
This site is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has contacted us, let us know and we'll delete it.
